Same as.Just to update. Head tech at my dealer has confirmed the tick. Now with Ford for advice and tech pushing for an investigation to cause. Car is fine bar the tick on cold start. It is still there when at temperature but not as obvious. My mileage is 3500 since January and I noticed the tick about a month ago.
Have to agree with you would not even bother with a 15-17 nowNo thanks, the oil cooler will go or the AC will will blow hot.,or i will get wet feet
Sorry to hear that, fingers crossed it all goes wellJust to update. Head tech at my dealer has confirmed the tick. Now with Ford for advice and tech pushing for an investigation to cause. Haven’t heard of any oil cooler or a/c problems on 18-19you do know all 3 of those happen on the facelifts too
Yes, I just checked the oil earlier this week and it was just above the minimum. Told the Tech this and he suggested that was normal. I've had three S550's and my dealer has been spot on so far, so I have no worries at the moment about getting it resolved. I told them that Ford in the US is saying this is normal, but my Tech agreed with me that it didn't sound normal. The dealer will do things by the book, but I think we will get some kind of solution.Same as.
I'm surprised they are asking for advice as Ford has stated its normal. They may get back to you and say this.
If it is excessive rod bearing clearence, they should drop the sump and measure end float. If it is then they are definitely putting something in the oil to quieten it,and it starts again with an oil change. The problem is they have been putting short blocks in with the same defect.Have you noticed raised oil consumption?
Sounds like you have a good tech dealing with it.Yes, I just checked the oil earlier this week and it was just above the minimum. Told the Tech this and he suggested that was normal. Hopefully it won't be a leaking core as thats a dash out repair.got the AC evap issue on mine going in friday to get diagnosed and hopefully fixed![]()
I reported an AC problem a week before my warranty expired and was back in a couple of weeks later for diagnosis. No leaks found though no idea how they could possibly have tested it. Resolution is a chargeable ÂŁ200 re-gas, as apparently three years is Ford's schedule for re-gassing of these systems. I'm not exactly convinced however I've confirmed that should this batch of highly expensive refrigerant leak into the atmosphere some time soon that they'll resolve the issue under the original warrantied investigation.got the AC evap issue on mine going in friday to get diagnosed and hopefully fixed![]()
