One hour job on my lift to install the QA1 unit went in without a hitch , I did the job alone but
would suggest a buddy to help hold the pry bar so the shaft doesn't spin when you are torqueing the bolts
I also own my own lift so it was doable ,on jack stands it would be a real PITA..Who cares about the install DOES IT WORK ?

This is what I noticed as far as performance on my 700 HP whippled auto GT....
Driving around town in day to day traffic, zero improvement, feels no different than stock
Driving on the hwy at 60-70 and punching it to 100+ MPH was a really really nice improvement
I could feel the power come on quicker and hit harder, the car without question is faster at high speed
acceleration tests . No vibrations no weird noises either. I am pleased with the upgrade and would recommend it
to anyone

You are lucky. 10% of these are returned….. They are hit or miss.

Why would they be returned that often?

Quality? Noise? Vibration?

Would a different material be better?

The QA1 unit is very nice, it's what I have. It's a little more than half the weight of the stock driveshaft, a significant improvement.

They can cause that many problems. My buds pinion bearing and gears were trashed from one within 30 miles. Run out was .023" and QA1 told him that's normal...... He fought 3 months to get a refund. Even sales told him they get 1/10 returned.

Other brands I wont mention have a bad reputation but the QA1 has been ok so far

I have 100 mile on it so far without issue
I cant imagine .023 of run out an issue, even ford OEM shaft has run out
I do believe weather it be a driveshaft or a set of shocks a lot of people
install them carelessly and cause thier own issues .

Ford shaft was heavier by 12 pounds or so but its not the weight savings I was after as much as
looking to get rid of slop in the driveline... The two piece shaft has no biz in a sports car

Dare I ask how much slop was in the stock one?

Do you think an Ecoboost would "feel" the power come on even sooner? (because we naturally have less to start with?)

Well. Glad the Mustang is just a Pony car. I love my OEM shaft. Works as intended. :)

I think they went from pony cars to sports cars with the advent of the S550
