He must have read all those threads of people gapping ZL1's and Z06's. :)

I mean I’m Lund tuned running E85 full bolt on and read of others with same mods gapping a 5th gen Zl1. I thought they were slow well apparently not. He put a hell of a gap on me. Oh well.

I made the comment a long time ago, that many of the cars some of us run up against, have drivers that are not really going to get on it much above the speed limits. It's funny how some of us say we beat the times that Auto magazines can do on prepped tracks. Bottom line is the ZL1 is no slouch. The other thing to remember is there are other cars running E85 and full bolt ons also. I wouldn't feel bad about that loss to a ZL1. I tend to be realistic. Starting from a dig or 60 mph or so makes a big difference in the outcome, so does the length of the race.

In order to run with a ZL1 you'd need to find 125hp and 200ft/lb from stock. Those cars are wicked.

I mean, you lost to a supercharged car with close to 600HP stock and about the same weight. But yes, boost is always the answer.
5th Gen ZL1s are 4120 lbs. (according to C&D's test of a 2012 ZL1), so 300ish lbs heavier than an A10 GT PP1. C&D tested the 5th Gen ZL1 and went 12.3 @ 119 mph. That seems pretty slow for a 580 hp car.

Sure, it would put a couple of cars on a stock Gen 3 M6 Coyote (12.6 @ 115 mph with a good driver), but it should be pretty even vs. a stock A10 GT until 120+ when the ZL1 hp would probably start to overcome the weight and transmission advantage of the A10 GT. A FBO A10 GT should beat a 5th gen ZL1 from a dig and a roll, unless the ZL1 was not stock - then all bets are off.

I can't tell if the OP's car is an M6 or A10 but that would obviously make a difference.

There’s I way he was stock, he had skinny’s in front and micky’s on rears. Sounded like he had headers and cam. That car squated when he down shifted and it pulled hard till he had a couple buses on me. I’m running an M6 as well.

Most of the gen5 Z’s have a lot of engine mods. Cams, head work, full exhaust in addition to non stock boost. No telling how much power it was making. A stock one you would have the advantage imo.
