When I launch the car it feels like the tires are spinning about 5 to 10 feet from the launch. Is there a possibility that the tires could be spinning on the rim? I don't have tubes in the tires. I have them at about 15lbs. Thanks, Tim

Yes it's possible. Get a piece of chalk and make a reference mark on the wheel and tire. After a run inspect to see if the mark has moved. If yes. You might want to get some rim screws and bolt the slicks to the wheels. I had to on my 9 second GT. What wheel and tire set up are you using?

Great Minds @bluebeastsrt - I was thinking the exact same thing. I used to spin my M/Ts on the rim at 15 psi

Whats the 60 ft....?

You could shoe polish the rim/tire and see if it slips but so far I have
not seen any 60 fts fast enough on stock stuff even w TT conversions ...

on a side note
IMO you would also be faster running an MT Drag radial over that Hoosier

The cure is rim screws or glue if it is slipping

The 60 foot is right at 1.51. I'm making 706 rwhp.

Just put a mark on the tire where the valve stem is. If the rims are moving you will know right away.

That's the plan. I'll find out for sure. Thanks

You need a longer burnout. Air up to 18psi remove front swaybar and get some adjustable shocks. Your 60 should be 1.4x all day.

This is what I've done also in the past.

What MT Drag Radial are you guys saying is better?

I'm not buying a drag radial is better than a full on slicks. People that are saying this have never used slicks.

I've always been able to put a lot of boost at the start with slicks and very minimal boost on the line with drag radials.

Exactly. I left the line last year on a 200 shot of nitrous in my 95 GT. 1.3 sixty on a ten inch slick at 12 pounds of air. I doubt a drag radial is gonna handle that as well.

1.50s usually wont spin the tire but you can easily trace it w some shoepolish
and add screws if needed....my drag car runs 1.15s on a 275 radial, needless to say its on beadlocks :)
