For some clarification, the ‘15 reg 350 were avalilable to the public, maybe not so much the Rs. I had the ability to purchase a ‘15 tech pkg but passed. I know a few others on this forum did buy and sell a few 15s when they initially came out.I am the owner of a 2015 track pack. Total production for 2015 was 137. 100 GT350’s 37 GT350R’s. The 100 were split 50 track packages 50 tech packages. 2015’s were not sold to the public. They were all sold to either Ford employees or ford VIP customers. The owners were required to sign an agreement with ford (similar to the ford GT). Hope this helps
Just to clarify the details for the 2015MY GT350/R's all 37 R's were VIP allocations with Jay Leno getting car #36 as there was only 36 R's originally produced for the 1965 MY and car #37 going to John Atzbach and his very cool collection of early Shelby's in the Pacific Northwest.I am the owner of a 2015 track pack. Chassis #F0001 of course went to the Ford family.
Regarding the Track Pack and Tech Pack cars the majority of these cars were VIP allocations but a number of these cars were also allocated to various Ford dealerships only in the U.S. None of the Ford dealerships in Canada were considered. There were ~10 cars (of the 100 cars) allocated to various Ford dealerships of based on a lottery allocation basis.
Of the 100 Track/Tech Pack cars built there were also 4 cars (2 Tech and 2 Track) provided to certain Ford executives to drive over a period of time with all of them eventually being turned back in for auction/resale through Manheim Auto Auctions in Detroit. Those 4 cars were chassis #68, 79, 80 and 100 (all 1 of 1 color combinations) with mileage on each of them being ~13,000 to ~14,000 miles when sold by Manheim.
All chassis numbers for each of the 137 cars mirrored the last 1 to 3 digits of the VIN for each 2015MY car.
Mark Fields then CEO of Ford sent out VIP letters of agreement to all prospective owners whereby they were requested to not sell any of these 137 cars for a period of time of no less than 3 years and in this agreement Ford also offered to buy all units back from the VIP owners at their original purchase price during that 3 year period.
The 2017 to 2022 Ford GT's (1350 cars) have similar agreements except they are based on a shorter 2 year period.
Luke, you may or may not know this but your car is 1 of 10 cars that were ordered in Avalanche Gray of which 9 were Track Pack cars and 1 was a Tech Pack car.
There was a small number (~10) of the fifty 2015 Tech and fifty Track Pack cars that were allocated directly to various dealerships in the U.S. via the internal Ford lottery system with those few cars not being subject to the conditions of a VIP allocation.I am the original owner of a 2015 Tech GT350 that I bought new during November 2015. I did not have to sign a contract with Ford regarding me reselling the car. It was never discussed at all. I did hear that the 2015 R models from 2015 were not supposed to be sold for two years after the dealers sold them.
