Correct, but it wasn't a Gen3 truck intake. Big difference.actually some magazine (hotrod?) did a test with 5 different intakes a few years ago (circa 2018) where they tested all this in some detail. I don't recall which gen F150 intake they were testing but it might have been a '17.
Like the OP, I see it as a win on the street. I don't need to rev beyond 7500 on the street, but any improvement in bottom end and middle would be welcomed. I'd like to see some track tests.
