It’s not about horsepower, it’s the possibility of a ping or knock, more likely with a high horsepower car at high revs, which can damage the engine. It’s not very likely if you’re just cruising around with it, but then why not have a Civic?

When I had my 15 GT i used to run regular in it all the time. I forget where i found it but on premium it made 4 HP more, why bother.......... My Raptor is a much different animal , its increase with Premium is noticiable, i believe just under 10 percent..... which is 40 ish HP..... GT350R is now where i put my premium as the Raptor isnt a sports car for me.

That's about the same as we get in the Midwest from Speedway stations. It is lower when the car hibernates for winter, but I don't buy that. I run one tank of 93 for winter starts and the occasional nice day drive.

Last week they reported a high speed chase that ended with a crash. Reason for the chase.... Burnt out tail light. PD backed the officer.

I didn’t mean it quite like that, sorry if I came off like a doucher. I meant if you want the beautiful lines of a mustang and the power of the 5.0 you’re going to pay more in everything; maintenance, upkeep, fuel, etc. If you genuinely use the extra power of the 5.0 it’s better for the engine to have the high octane. Of course you can go too high and then have a new set of issues…
