If the spare size is a good bit smaller than the wheel on the car, it’ll be fine up front for a safe distance. If the flat is on the rear, it’s best to pull a good front tire and place it on the rear to keep the overall diameter the same so as to not wear out the limited slip in the diff.

The only thing bad about that is if you have a PP1 or a staggered setup. With the PP1, if I recall correctly, they have a 255/40R19 up front and a 275/40R19 out back. The front tire is 3/4" smaller in diameter and will be rolling 2.3% greater rpm than the other rear tire when moved to the back of the car. Not too terrible. It is within the desired 3% circumference difference but that usually requires that an axel has the same tires on both sides. I am sure if you keep the speed down and limit travel distance, your diff will not be damaged. OF course, that spare Ford sells could really be meant for a base GT which has 255/40R19 all around.

You can use a tire calculator like this one to see the differences:

What is the tire size of the spare you want to use?

Back in '17, The dealer threw in the ford spare tire kit in my '17 mustang EB premium, with the 18" wheels.

The '19 GT PP1 obviously doesn't have spare kit.

Someone said perhaps getting a 1" spacer would make the ford kit work with PP1's?

I would really like to keep the spare tire kit if this sould work. Also, if it works, anyone have a recommendation for 1" spacers?
