I am attempting to connect my RTD device to my car, following the steps provided by Lund and after going into the HP Tuners program > Help > Resync Interface, it is saying “Please connect an MPVI interface...”

Did I miss something? I went back through the steps and even redownloaded the program, but no dice.

Update: finally got it to work. Lund’s directions are a little misleading. For anyone else that has this happen to them: Lund’s directions say to plug the RTD device into the obd2 port and hook up the laptop to the RTD via the supplied cable, and attempt to sync the device. I had to just connect the device to the laptop and leave it all disconnected from the car in order for it to sync properly. After it had synced, I was able to connect it all to the car and proceed as normal.

i am having the same problem but cant get it to sync either way
Have you tried syncing it while the device is not hooked up to the car's OBD2 port? Thats what I had to do. Essentially have the device hooked up to the PC but not hooked to the car yet.

i have tried both ways
If you have tried that and it still doesn't work, make sure your device is registered and has the correct Serial # entered into the program

I had a similar issue with a RTD this week. It wasn't a Lund tune, but similar situation. I tried it with it hooked up to the car or just the laptop. It was registered correctly but wouldn't resync afterwards to pull the credits down. When plugged into the car it would try to update the firmware, but fail with a memory error. Just on the laptop it would never try the firmware update. I had it start the firmware update plugged into the car, then quickly disconnected it from the OBD2 port and left it connected to the laptop. It finally finished the firmware update and was able to get it to resync. Pulled the stock tune out fine, then had an issue with the tune sent to me loading. ended up needing to find an older version of RTD flasher to get it to load. So far so good. Man do i miss the n-gauge i had in my last 18. That was so much simpler. no fuss no muss just worked

yeah, i wanted the ngauge but waited a little too long. I almost went with PBD since you could get a ucal or SCT with it, but stuck with lund...Hopefully loading the new tune they send me will be a little less problems
