Trying to see if I got a good one...zero oil consumption in my 21 GT with 24k miles. Oil changed at 5k intervals, never had to add a drop. I'm getting the car bug and want to weigh my options of trading or boosting. Is it normal to have no oil consumption or is my engine on the rare side?

I do add Cera Tec Liquid Moly for the bbq tick, but that's the only thing not OEM besides an H-pipe.

My car is seasonal, so not many miles (4250 mi / 6840 km).

Stock, using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, 5W30. I follow the OLM for oil change periods. I've also gotten oil analysis at each change (all checks normal).

Once warmed up, the car is driven as I like.

I haven't burned a drop.

Along with feedback from this thread, an oil analysis at the next change might build still more confidence of your engine before mods.

2022 with 15k miles. No track miles, daily driven. Mostly in town but also some interstate miles. Will push it a bit here and there but not until everything is up to temp. Doesn’t consume a drop.

DD, 73.000km in 4y, bought new, no oil consumption. I change the oil every 10.000km or sooner and I use full synth Ravenol 5W-30.

Good to hear that oil consumption isn't a thing in the GT 5.0. Maybe it was just prevalent in the Voodoo engine on the GT350??

Hi,
my 2022 stock gt doesn't use any oil, bought it new, at 3000 first OC, every 5000 after that.

2019 Stock GT. Doesn't use any oil, coming up to 30,000 miles. I have come to believe the guys who drove the car home from the dealer and immediately dumped the factory oil out and put in the slipperiest synthetic oil are the ones who have oil consumption issues. The rings need to seat before that switch is made.

A friend has an M1. It uses a quart a track day. Which is within norms per the owners manual, as I understand it for the M1.

Gt350 is a classified “race” motor that required a specific breakin procedure, which 99% of owners did not do. 500 miles of breakin, giving the car minimalized idle time, minimized highway cruise time, maximized mid acceleration or decelleration to properly seat piston rings. Gen1 voodoo had their own issues as well. This was a huge factor for the main engines not having any oil consumption almost, vs the average voodoo eating a ton. This motor also revved up to 8k rpms which inevitabley at that speed on a track constantly will warrant up to a quart of oil eaten per 500 miles as per the manual.

Gt has a normal engine which is alot better suited for non track procedures like never checking oil

My 23 gt has been supercharged since 3000 miles, now has 10k miles, doesnt eat enough oil to add between an oil interval of 4500-5000 miles. No track time but very aggressive street driving.

Coyotes are stout, if you do good maintenence it will be fine for anything up to 900whp safely

Yes, big on this
Engines cannot seat rings on full synthetic motor oil
Brand new engine builds should run at a minimum of a 25 mile breakin period on conventional oil to do majority of the breakin, which stock motors from factory do differently but as you say, stock oil for breakin miles is important

I'm at 78K miles on my '16 GT, 5k mile oil change intervals. Doesn't use a drop measuring from the dipstick. I have a catch can that I can completely soak up with only 2 blue shop towels. I'll call that 0 oil consumption, as others have stated similar above.
