Hello Folks!!
Back in 2016 I got into a GT350. It was an amazing car but needed 2 engine replacments. Ford bought it back in 2017.
The GT350 was replaced with a 2017 C7Zo6. It is about to roll 100,000 miles and is up for sale. Used car prices are nuts and I don't want to have to worry about replacing the clutch, supercharger and anything else that might go wrong with a high milage Corvette. it has been an amazing car but time to unload and get into something else.
No question I would get back into a GT350 but I had 2 engines that needed replacing after only 12,000 total miles. No way I am going to own another one out of warranty that might need a 25,000 long block in the future.
This brings me to the Mach 1. It is a compromise of sorts. The manual 6 speed Tremec transmission is the reason I am looking at the Mach 1 over the standard GT. Only interest in manual transmission. How has reliability on these been? Looking through this forum the engine seems to be well sorted. Last I was on GT mustangs were suffering from the BBQ tick that Ford dismissed as normal. Was there any changes with that or does the Mach 1 have the same issue? Is it good to run up hard miles at the same rate as my Corvette? The Corvette has been solid except for melting catalytic converters and 16 sets of tires. Americas tire local branch manager and I exchange Christmas cards. Every time I see him it is $2000.
Another thing I worry about is ground clearance. the GT350 would scrape constantly on the back road loop I like to run. The Corvette was actually better in this regard, much less bottoming out on bumps.
Great to be back on the forum.
