I don t know about that piece , some plastic you can use a light polish but that looks like its deep. You could just use a grey marker and make it less obvious or just replace the piece.

I would say that's impossible to repair. Check carpart.com and others. Might be a good excuse to get full CF kit.

Yea, unfortunately that scratch looks to have gone below the surface lithograph? and is not an easy fix at all.

Check eBay for good used take offs, there’s always plenty of S550 take off parts on there. Also The Parts Farm is a well known Mustang salvage facility as is Prestige Mustang, and MPS Salvage.

I don't want to spend $200+ on this. I think I fixed it good enough to not be noticeable, and will hopefully (almost) forget about it over time.

I noticed I too had some scratches, but more abrasions than deep cuts like yours. My thought is that I'll use some "transparent smoke" paint like I've used on scaled models in the past for window tinting. I figure I'll thin the paint out, and then layer it it up using a very fine brush to blend into the surrounding areas.
If that doesn't work to my satisfaction my next options are to: b) Realize it's better to leave well enough alone, or b) obtain a carbon fiber replacement part.

I think anchor room sells carbon fiber wraps for the interior trim pieces. Just putting that out there as an inexpensive option. I think your repair was pretty good, but only you know if it's going to keep bothering you or not.

Decent repair. Barely can see it.

Regardless, this is the way...

Learned something today, yea that s a better way sometimes or you wind up with a garage queen car that s never perfect anyway, LOL.... Like wrapping the entire car only to get rear ended.

That Wabi Sabi applies to lots of things for us OCD types.

For that circumstance, I think I would get a clear film quote with matte film. Might give a more uniform look and protect it in the future.

OTOH PPF quote could be as high as a replacement. :explode:

I used a black Sharpie to trace in the scratches, and then followed up by rubbing across the scratch with some lighter fluid on a paper towel. You can't wait for the ink to fully dry. Took off the excess while leaving the scratch darker.
