I agree with you. These cars are terrible with road noise in the rear. Many people have pulled all the panels and back seat to apply sound deadening. I didn't want to get into that so bought a full trunk mat from BLOCKIT. Goes right in over the existing carpet, etc. and is easily removed. Works pretty good but doesn't cover the wheel wells.Wondering about the insulation in the trunk and under the back seat. Is it for road noise sound proofing, and if so does it work?
Too much tire noise on some road surfaces for me, sometimes I can barely hear my H-Pipe delete.......
Thanks for the reply.I wanted to cut down on road noise. It helped a bit. It added about 35 lbs., if that’s a concern.

Actually I didn't think much about road noise; to me the car is pretty quiet (although I haven't ridden in the back seat so...) Then again, all I drove before were Japanese compacts and those are a lot noisier even in the front. It's been awhile since I rode in a 3700 lb. car which is smooth and quiet to me.I agree with you. My last mustang was an 05 GT, I think it was 300HP.71 here. Started with an '88 GT fastback, followed by a '99, '13, and now '18. The last three GT convertibles. All stick, and all factory orders so I could have it "my way".
I tried to time my replacements when there was a horsepower bump. 225/260/420/460 hp.
It is a multi layer soundproofing pad, around an inch and a half or so thick. Fairly heavy, probably 15-20 pounds. I don't keep anything in my trunk but wiping towels for washing so I have never been concerned about the additional weight. It also has a separate piece that can be removed if you have the subwoofer in the trunk. Thanks for the info.
I've never heard of that product.
I'll check it out, it definitely appeals to my lazy nature.
But am I actually lazy, or just conserving energy?
Something else to ponder......
ETA I checked out that Blockit, looks like a nice solution. I couldn't find the weight listed anywhere on their website.
Do you have any idea?
Where I come from we started Pumping Iron around 17/18, 16 oz curls to be exact.Turning 73 in august, I’ve had 27 mustangs and now my fastest this GT350R , for my birthday I benched 396lbs , hard work and I’m thankful to be able to do that .
