When adding a supercharger and gaining say about 100 torque on the car , how noticeable is that much torque in the drive? And when do you feel/notice it the most?

It depends on the supercharger. In general, you will definitely notice 100lbs of torque, that is nearly a 20% increase. But the Coyote engine is small displacement, so max torque normally occurs at higher rpms. A centrifugal supercharger would increase the torque mostly at higher rpms. The positive displacement (twin screw, TVS and Roots) superchargers increase torque delivery at lower rpms; much more noticeable.

Horsepower is a derived figure...

100 more ft-lbs at 6000 rpm is 114 HP. You only need about 88 ft-lbs at the same rpm to get 100 HP. PD superchargers tend to evenly increase torque across the rev range. With a high-revving engine like the Coyote, that means more HP as the revs climb.

Ok.......I'll still take the hp if you got any. For example....ill take the low torque/high hp coyote over a pretty even hp/torque of your scatpack.

Methinks too many mustang owners spend too much time calculating rather than racing. "how does something feel" is irrelevant as everyone's opinion will differ. The question should be more like "how fast have guys gone with 550-600whp in boosted coyotes".

Coyotes55086: 100 lb. ft. Is very noticeable. If you are considering a blower, my advice is to stop considering and start installing...you will LOVE it!

100 ft-lbs will definitely be noticeable but it will be delivered differently depending on the specific power adder. Positive displacement will punch immediately and continue throughout the rev range, centrifugal will come on later (after 3k) and continue on from there in a linear fashion. Turbos are different story.

You'll notice a 100 increase in torque on your butt dyno for sure. When you will feel it depends on what power-adder you are running.

getting gapped by 1.3L miatas with open headers and 140hp. *slow claps*
Lol. Come on man, you know they were originally 1.6 litres...

I remember many moons ago gapping ā€˜vettes (new at the time) on the auto cross track with just a lowly 1.8L Miata with full exhaust. Yea, them 185 60r14 tires ripped. Tight course. No long straights.

Im sure they're formidable given their popularity in that sport.

Actually one of the most fun cars Iā€™ve ever had. Slow as a turd in a straight line. You could bang shifts off at redline in the first 3 gears and never even draw a look from the police. But auto cross and winding twisting roads were fun! Tail of the Dragon in a Miata was incredible. Maybe not the fastest through it, but it was always entertaining!
