The stock motors are very stout. The only thing that I'd really consider replacing if you plan on 700+ HP is the oil pump gears and crank sprocket. We are currently making near 900 rwhp with our 2015 GT without opening it up for anything, but again, we'd recommend oil pump gears and crank sprocket for power levels over 700 rwhp.

We also do have Whipple on sale at 10% off with free shipping from 2/29 - 3/4 when you use coupon code "WHIPPLE". Check out online or give us a shout with any questions.

Thanks

Old thread i know...

Opg’s on a gen2 5.0 Procharged D1x. 750whp on pump and octane booster no problem. It will do 850 on e-85..

How many people can you fit in a 20' aluminum boat?

If you're sitting next to the dock, probably quite a few, if you're out on the water in high chop, probably less.

You see a lot of "corrected" SAE dyno numbers, and we come by it honestly, but SAE corrections have a downfall and that's true, real world torque. So while a car might make 1000rwhp "corrected" it actually might make much less under less than ideal conditions. This gives a false sense of capability when it comes to how much the motor can handle. (i.e. the true dyno number might be 820 hp and 550 lbs of torque but corrected it's 985 hp and 630 lbs of torque). Can the motor actually handle 985/630? Who knows, but sitting on a dyno, with perfect fuel and ideal use, it's just fine. Take it out in the real world and ask it to lug low rpms, uphill on a hot day with a less than ideal batch of fuel and boom.

So the real question is, how much can a motor handle under less than ideal conditions. Cause even a motor with stock powdered rods can handle boat loads of power and torque if the tune is perfect and the conditions are perfect and the operation is perfect.

engineering tolerances vary but assume 30% max. 430HP * 1.3 = 560. Just because not every 700HP motor has let go doesn't mean your's won't.

"How lucky do you feel, punk?"
I would roll the dice on 700hp all day with a gen2 coyote. The coyote Wouldn’t even break sweat. I don’t even think about opg/cs tell 700. A gen2 gen3 coyote isn’t even really working until 800+

Nearing 2 years, some dyno pulls and over 100 dragstrip passes here. Whipple 750 HP kit, purchased from Lethal during their Black Friday sale back in '18.

Dyno'd 643 on the Whipple tune, which runs and drives perfectly right out of the box.

Couldn't be happier.

But the "experts" say the stock powdered metal connecting rods won't handle much over 600-650 rwhp.

I have not heard of broken, stock connecting rod with a "normal" FI street upgrade, defined as less than 800 rwhp.
