GT350R as opposed to buying a 2019?
With the unannounced upgrade, the 2020 maybe worth the wait.....

What’s your take?

I am. I had blind faith not knowing what is in store (hopefully CCB's, hopefully not a digital gauge cluster) and ordered a 2020 from a local dealer for their only allocation so far. They do have a GT500 allocation but it will have a heavy ADM and I was wanting the GT350 anyway. Was nice that it was offered at MSRP and I could obviously pick all the options. I have no knowledge, but there is no precedent with Ford at least to have that large of a jump in price and not offer any extra features. Time will tell. Was told a build date possibly in September.

With only 840 being built, that breaks down to 17.5 for every state in the contiguous US. That will be a rare beast indeed.

hopefully CCB's
I have chimed in on this subject a few times so here is my take on the CCB's. Ford has brought out examples of the GT500 for the press to drive and show off at numerous events. The GT500 probably weighs more, has more power, and is faster and it does not seem to have CCB's. Also the bump in price for the GT350R to me does not seem to cover the price of what other manufacturers charge for CCB's let alone the other upgrades that Ford has in store. So sorry I do not think CCB's are on the table for the 2020 GT350R. Of course this is just speculation on my part and that is all anybody has to go on right now until Ford announces anything.

Perhaps. But, maybe with the GT500 to compete with, Ford wants the GT350R to go out with a fight. From a pure track racer POV, it makes sense for the R to get some CCB's. Also, Ford and its dealers will sell every GT500 they make in the first year very easily, and with a huge ADM. They dont necessarily have their customer figured out for that car. Right now its the most POWWAAHHHHH crew wanting to buy. The Mopar competitors dont offer them for that latter reason. They are not sold to a track riding crew. Perhaps Ford hasnt had enough time to see if the CCB's they currently can source even make sense on that vehicle.

I paid 8K for optional Porsche CCB's on my GT4, and they are regarded as some of the best, if not the best carbon ceramic brakes in the industry. That was in 2016.

Just waiting for Ford to release to the world.......:please:

Maybe so, it's fun to speculate. I wish you the best as I have no dog in this fight as I have exactly the two cars I want.

I am placing order this weekend for a 2020 R...I do not wish to have Carbon Ceramics (Stupid expensive to replace) nor the digital gauge (Analog will age better/plus personal preference). Soooo I'm hoping it's powertrain/drivetrain upgrades.

Not to disappoint anybody, but if I find out the increase is due to the CCB, I will buy a left over 2019 R......
Just personal preference and not wanting to shell the extra $$$ for the track usage it will get ......

I had a 2015 Z/28 with CCB and I can tell you that most owners who track (according to the forms I read) were switching them out because of the cost to replace. So yeah, if you have a lot of disposable cash and want to be on the track all day then get it. But you can do that now to any car if you have that kind of money. I personally think they are just going to take what they learned from the new GT500 (wheels, aero, etc.) and put that on the R.

I have been working with the General Manager and have my R build order worked up today, I have asked him to get clarification from his regional rep on the price hike for the 920A package for 2020...If I get any info I'll post it up.

More speculation. Maybe a Titanium Exhaust? Other lightweight goodies? Cant wait to hear!

The more I think about it, DSSV would be just the ticket here.

That and something like a GT4 spoiler and canards would complete it.

Titanium exhaust is cool, but isn’t a good dollar per value upgrade.

Removing the magride for DSSV should be good for a few (3-5) lbs of unsprung weight per corner.

5grand is a lot of coin though, considering how much we got for the original 8k (R package).
