Is priority number determined by the dealer when they put in the order or by Ford when the order is received?

When you place your order your dealer will most likely place it as a retail which has a priority of 10. Which means your car will only be scheduled to be built if your dealer has any allocation left. If so then plan on waiting for a butt hurt of a long time.

There a way to figure out if my dealer has any allocations left?

Good info on the "priority number" I'll try and see if my dealer can get a (1)

It has become clear to me that I will have to order my car, I'd hope as more cars arrived at dealers I could find the car for me, Not so!

My dealer has 10 car sitting and not one is manual. and only one TY PP.

All I want is a base GT, manual, TY. but that is the new unicorn.

I've check their (my dealer) extended inventory and the four dealers near me, all within 50 mi.
No luck... So, tomorrow I will order.
hoping for a valentine day delivery

I had to order my base GT as well. The only option I got was 3.55s but that's one that's so rare you almost have to special order. I'd recommend you add 3.55s to your base order if you're not getting the performance pack. Only a $300 option.

This is not entirely true. Yes retail usually gets a priority of 10 but they can really assign it whatever they want between 10 and I think 99. The car will get scheduled and built no matter what (As long as a dealership can sell mustangs that is) but could get bumped from build dates depending on priority and allocations. 10 is the highest priority a dealership can give a car. Only Ford can give it a priority 1 which will happen if the dealer knows someone, Ford has really screwed up on something and needs to please a customer, and I am sure a handful of other situations/reasons. I have an EDD of 1/12 as of today ordered on 11/10, VIN on 11/13, built on 12/17. Mine will fall in the 8 week range on a retail order with a Priority 10.
