So I'm thinking of installing a heated seat kit (driver side only) and just wondering how hard it is to unhook the cloth and then reinstall it. I don't need to remove it completely, just enough to slide the heated seat pad under the cloth. I know that removing the seat out of the car is pretty easy.

Has anyone done this before, if so how much work was it? Any gotchas I should be aware of?

Should be pretty easy especially if you take the seat out. Replaced the lower on my wife's Edge and it was no sweat.

On the Edge, 90% of the cover was stretched and held with 2" wide C clips under the seat, the other 10% were alignment clips on top to line up the stitching seams with the cushion. Looking at the Mustang cloth cover, it looks like its 100% C clips, so you should have no issues.
