I'm going to bring my gt350 to a big local race track (Area 27) for the first time. Since it's my first experience with stock brake pad with any cars, I'd like to ask how capable is stock brake pad on the track days.

Besides, does anyone used Hawk DTC60 on Shelbys? Thanks guys :like: :like:

Area 27 is easy on brakes. Run the stock pads - they're made for this stuff by Ferodo. You'll be fine. Decide after that. What's your date? I'm booked to be there on June 18th so long as the roads are open again.

So glad to see a Vancouver shelby owner in the forum! I'm going there on 15th with very a small group of 20ish cars. How your tires performed on the Area27?

I've been using stock brake pads for all my track days, including at VIR and Pocono. Now granted I am obviously not as hard on the brakes as most others but I have never had an issue with the OEM pads.

The stock MPSS's are good on Area 27 and you will have a fun day on them. If you have the option, MPSC2's are spectacular on that track, so they're a better choice if you can do it. I've done 8 days up there, and I've run both tires multiple times. Mind your pressures and you'll get good results from either one.

Stock pads hold up well. I may have gone through half a pad in a weekend. I still need to pull them to look for sure.

I haven't been to a track that's overly hard on brakes, but the factory pads have been nothing short of excellent.

I'm planning to get a set cup2 or goodyear 3r after stock super sport tires. May I ask what's your approximate lap time on Area27? I just like to get some ideas of lap time of shelby.

For future reference, I was not a fan of the 350 cup2s but am now extremely happy with the 350R version. The 3R also sounds like a great choice.
