I noticed today the plastic center console forward of the manual shifter area is very hot on my 2019 GT.

Is this normal or does it warrant a look over under chassis to see if insulation is needed (or under the center console).

It's going to explode.

The safest thing for you and your family, is to give the car to me. I'll dispose of it properly for you.

No sweat GI -- let me break in for you first. It has just over 1,000 miles.

It gets hot. I got used to putting my cell phone there in the winter but lately when I do its piping hot when I pick it up so I'm trying to break that habit.

Can't do that if you're using Carplay unfortunately. On hot days I end up just throwing it on the passenger seat. I've had my phone overheat keeping it in that cubby area forward of the shifter.

I took a 600 mile road trip this weekend and had no heat at all in this area. I checked at high speeds and high traffic since I drove to a beach area. So it may be the A10 transmission vs manual, or premium interior, or EB vs Coyote.

Yeah that cubby forward of the shifter gets warm in my car too. I accidentally put a half eaten candy bar there recently and it got gooey quick.

I have a 2019 Manual and no issues at all with heat in that area. I put my key fob there. Today after a 90 minute early morning drive I touched the pad with my fingers to check the temp and it was not hot at all.

That spot does not seem hot on mine. Took it for some spirited driving for 30 minutes or so and my keyfob was only warm. About the same as one of my other cars keyfob I had in one of the center cupholders.
