there is a funny video showing some Ferraris (an f12 included I believe) racing a ducati (cant remember which, but I believe it was a 999) and a bmw s1000rr. All got beat easily by the ducati, and flat out embarrassed by the bmw. Ill link the video when I get a chance.

My 1990 FXR is the slowest bike I have out of three, but it's also not stock. A guy in a Tesla Model 3 Performance got more than he bargained for this summer when he started toying with me. If I want speed, I'm not taking the Harley, for sure - but I think the Tesla driver got used to gapping a lot of stock cars and didn't realize that yea, a Harley can be quick too.
That said, I think a lot of people get confident that they can bolt on 1000HP and beat liter bikes on highway runs because a lot of YouTube videos show street races where liter bikes lose. But you also have to realize they post those for the clickbait because that IS such a tall order to do. In reality it's not just HP but also suspension, wheel and tire, weight reduction, and even road conditions, that you need to have dialed in to confidently beat a liter bike. The fastest bike I've owned was an R1 and while I had it nobody came close - not that I ever went looking for street races either.

I had a buddy that had to give up street bikes and then became dead set on building his C5 Corvette to be capable of outrunning a liter bike on the street. Granted this was 15 years ago and the new bikes just keep getting faster, but with a TT H/C/I setup making 768 rwhp he was able to hold off everything he found on the street.
Id guess in a full weight S550 that needs to be closer to 850-875 rwhp to be safe.
Then you’ll run into the double throw down super RR version of some crazy turbo liter bike and realize you still need more 😉

how much hp does a car need to keep up with 600cc and 1000cc bikes.
HP isn't the issue. Torque is. You need about 600ft/lb.
60ft/lb / 400lbs = 0.15 * 4000lb = 600
A bike will broadly speaking outpace a car to about 120mph. After that HP and aero asserts itself. Motorcycles have just horrendous drag.

Aerodynamics play a large role at anything above 100mph. Drag increases with the square of the velocity so it's a huge factor on bikes which are really dirty compared to cars. All the MotoGP bikes are running winglets and ducting now like the Ducati Supper Leggera V4. We are living in the golden age of both cars and bikes!

Any modern inline 4 600cc sportbike like a 600rr, R6, Zx6r, gsxr 600 etc will do 10’s in the 1/4 with a decent rider launching it. Your best bet is always gonna be from a dig. From a roll the little 600’s while not 1000’s are still nasty lol. I have a 2013 600rr that just has exhaust and have beaten from a roll a 2019 Zo6, s550 stangs, a 750 hp track hawk, and some others. The good news is a 600 doesn’t have a ton of top speed and they start running out of steam around 130 mph. If you go from a 130 mph roll you may just have a chance 😂. A 1000 you are absolutely toast no matter how you try it lol. Ducati v4’s, ninja h2’s (especially modded), busas that are turbo and built etc are just absolutely insane when it comes to speed!

My ‘06 ZX14 held off a 750 HP 2014 GT twice and in a stretch from a 60 roll up to about 150 and then we let off.

A friend of mine got hit by a deer. Not the other way around. It jumped into his passenger seat through the window. He was fine, but unsurprisingly crashed and totalled the car.
My friends dad got picked clean off his harley by a jumping deer. Almost killed him, but he survived. He never even saw it coming. It never even touched the bike.

I've had a 900 and a 1000 Ninja. I think my biggest problem was being consistently quick off the line, due to trying to control the wheelies. From a roll, no way could most cars touch them. They were both quick and fast, and would wipe most street cars out there on the road. If you want to beat a big bore bike, your car better run 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds and run the qtr in the low 9's, unless the rider sucks. Like others have already said.
