My guess as well. I have a note out to Tim to see what he says. But I think it was caught in time. Always follow your instincts!

That other stud was holding it's ground!
Thank god for the side bolts!

If the other stud was able to hold, it presents another viable weight savings opportunity. Obviously don't need ALL those mains, get rid of half of them and save the weight!
it might even vibrate less. :)

It'll absolutely vibrate less. Having a rod make a hole in the block is an extremely effective way to stop engine vibrations.
First they'll get much worse, then much better. It's always darkest right before the light.

Just got a note back from Tim, he's wondering if it was possible there was a small balance issue with the clutch. That makes sense given that it was cap #5

I've had this nagging feeling regarding that clutch/flywheel for the last 4 or so events. I really need to quit ignoring/postponing action. Ha
