Here's a good video with the history of the Mach 1. He touches on some good points such as the shaker hood always being optional on the early versions, and the importance of the Mustang II to the lineup, even if it was rather weak (as 99% of cars were in the mid 70s).

The only hole I can pick is his comment about the Appearance Package on the '21 having the multi-spoke wheels......nope, that's part of the Handling Package.

Louvers and spoilers were not available on '69 Mach 1s (or Boss 429s), only available on the Boss 302. Magnums were Boss only for '69 or '70.

Ugh, reminds me of this black '73 Mach 1 that comes up for sale in my area about once every 5 years and each time I'm just out of reach to pick it up. It's mint and low mileage and I've wanted it for half my life now (about 20 years this has been going on).

Interesting color/stripe/interior combination.

Somewhere in my notes are the details of how many were issued in that combination. I recall it wasn't many with the Black Jade metallic paint. I'm so wishing the 2021 offered that color combo, but that might have been too close to my first car memory! Can't wait to see a pic (or post a pic) of what the Iconic Silver will look like!
