My car is making what seems to be an air discharge noise. it's very faint and you can only hear it when the hood is open. The sound is constant when the AC is off and it comes and goes when the AC is on. Any thoughts?

Could just be a belt slightly touching something like the AC pulley. especially if it goes away when the compressor is engaged.

Would that sound like air being evacuated? it appears to come from the intake manifold...

Do you have a stethoscope? I would also try removing the catch can and see if that helps. Catch cans work with vacuum so a slight leak or even just the connection point of the hoses can make a hissing noise.

Here is a video of what i mean. You can hear it kind of stop at 15 sec.

Also, i installed shorty headers on my car yesterday and i deemed it a good time to empty my catch can. I check on it today while filming the video and there is already some decent amount of oil in it. Could there be a correlation?

(i tried to put the stock PCV hose on and nothing changed)

I have a 2015 GT PP with the same hissing coming from what seems to be the Throttle Body area. I don't recall if this has always been there and I never noticed it until now (possible I suppose), but I noticed it the first time yesterday. Checked all the hoses, clamps, even the throttle body bolts; everything was tight and secure. I can't feel any air, just hear the hiss.

Thought about dropping by the local ford service center to have them take a listen, but that won't be for a couple days.

Anyone else have this sound, or know if it's fairly normal?

I have a strange type of hissing noise also, only hear it when enclosed with walls like a ATM drive up, etc. Can't put my finger on it yet.

Did you ever get that hissing confirmed as normal by the dealership?
Any issues from it or just chalked it up as normal?
