What's up fellas, I have a few questions for you guys that are more experienced with the drag racing and NHRA. I ran a 9.3 at 157mph and got kicked. They said I need safety equipment: roll bar/cage, harness, chute and fire jacket. Running these kinds of times, what are you guys going with? I'm not really trying to break the bank and I really wasn't trying to mess up my whole interior in the back. It is a car with 3k miles. I'm trying to get some ideas to see the best route to go and best places to shop. Maybe get a whole kit?

Unfortunately once you clip off that kinda time. You'll have to install 3 grand worth of safety equipment. I'd look at watson racing for the roll bar. I use race quip harnesses in both of my old 8 & low 9 second drag cars. You might want to install a kirkey seat? Im not sure who does a chute mount for the s550. Youll need a snell rated helmet if you dont already have one. Getting the nhra license is easy. Just call your local track and see when they are doing license runs. 3 clean runs in a row and your good.

Oh yeah that sounds easy for the license. I found a chute for like $900 for the S550.

My local track is pretty easy going and should be able to run 9s all day. Technically the car is safe for 10 second passes from the factory and now with a 6pt, can run 9s on testntune nights, that’s really all I do. If you’re going to race in competitions, 100% you’re gonna the 10pt.

Did you install that one yourself? Is it bolt in or welded?
