Ha, well that confirms my choice for me then! By choosing a manual I was a little concerned that the 10speed would get significantly better gas mileage, looks like that's not the case.

That price tag even with removing some options is just absurd!

I knew the gas mileage wouldn't change much at all. It's still a gas hogging V8. You should be buying this car for preference on auto vs manual, not gas mileage.

I'll find my 15 window sticker. It has the same mpg listed. Not sure what the big deal is about the mpg on the 18

Corvette hits 29 with outdated engine tech, so kinda. Maybe 28 due to weight difference and aero. My 2013 hit 25, granted no one buys these for mileage but still u would think there would be an improvement over 5 years.
Vette uses the cylinder shut down, so its a little different. That's for highway cruising.

Against my 2017 GT with auto, its only 1 mpg better in city, highway and combined. I thought it would have been better than that with the 10 speed auto.

Sticker may not have the most up to date information. Website indicates 18 City / 27 HWY/. 22.5 average

Eh, every decent car these days is over 50K...I dont see a problem for what you getting. My buddys 440 was 68K. Whatever, shit is getting expensive.

This.

That sticker price shocked me more than the gas mileage.
Deleted this rant because I was stupid and assumed something without checking first.

It says something different depending on what you're viewing. The Build and Price says 18/27 for all models (eco and GT), and that would likely be the manual's rating if anything.

Now if you're just looking the models page, it shows

15 City / 25 HWY for GTs and 21/31 for EBs (this is the 2017 spec)

Shit's all messed up.

Paying more for crap that will fail down the road and cost big bucks to fix. LCD screen for gauges? Looks cool, but LCD screens fail all the time in my world. I prefer good old fashioned gauges.
I Personally feel Ford finally jumped the shark with the Mustang pricing. Glad I got the '15 when I did. It's going to take some time for sticker shock to settle in.

And the price of filling up will increase with 91 octane required. Minimal mileage increase, significant cost per gallon increase. In AZ the difference between 87 and 91 is 30-50 cents. The ability of filling with 87 was one of the major reasons I bought the Mustang instead of the Camaro. Filling up over twice a week adds up.

Perceived savings.
Did I miss something? I thought the MY18 took plain old 87 octane the same as the current gen?

Nevermind, I'm a moron and assumed. The manual says 87 octane. :headbonk::shrug:

It does take 87. I think the advertised ratings are with 91/93 though (and it has been like that for years)

I'm with ya on using the 87 though. @ 20k miles a year...it adds up.
