Interesting that the A10 equipped PP gets a 3.55 Torsen. MT82 cars get the 3.73.
The manual has a 3.66 first gear. The A10 has a 4.66 first gear. Therefore even with the taller rear ratio the 10A first overall ratio is shorter. The 10A ratios are significantly closer than the manual ratios and there is a good chance the 10A will be in 6th gear at the end of the 1/4 mile if trap speed exceeds the top of fifth at about 108 mph on oem tires and rev limiter setting.

Not a shocker at all. What did you expect? 30 mpg out of a V8? Don't kid yourself. The coyote is definitely a good motor, but it is thirsty. You could throw in any transmission and still get the same mpg numbers.
Gotta disagree! My '17 s550 gets better mpg then my coyote. Its 4.7L turbo, and its close to 5000 pounds!

Edit: by s550, I mean Mercedes Benz S550

I think Corvette uses cylinder deactivation, and its lighter, geared taller, and more aerodynamic.
I know, I just wanted to point out that it's possible.

Mine was $56k with x-plan but mine was a convertible GT Premium PP with all the goodies. I changed it to a Coupe and it brought it down to $50,900 with x-plan. I'm hoping with the incentives it'll take it below $50k. Doubt it though :(

I can get 31mpg all highway and no stopping and taking it easy in my 2013 modded C6 Vette. City it is only around 15mpg as i don't drive like a granny.

It will be a monster in the 1320.

MPG & Sticker

Ford Performance Aluminator A52XS is using the Automatic with 3.73 gearing.

MPG from 15 is the same, but you're getting a lot more with the Magnaride, Active Exhaust, 10 Speed Auto and Electronic Dash for just a few more Bucks.

Magnaride - Magne-ride ? Ive seen it differently in the Shop Manual, Owner's Manual and on the Window Sticker. Which is the "Official" Spelling?

You can only lug an engine so much before it becomes undrivable.
That direct injection helps but ford is too conservative on the compression. Must DI engines run 13-14:1 compression.
I agree, Ford could've done more. BUT, at least they'll run less hot. At any rate, my guess is higher compression set ups are coming with follow-on model year and/or trims. 12:1 is nothing for DI. My Mazda3 is 14:1 on 87 octane...now, that is a "holy $#it" moment.

The GT is encroaching on ZL1 pricing. That is simply silly.
Yeah, just freaking crazy. I used to think Ford was pushing the EcoBoost 2.3 for the Global market. Now I'm thinking the 4-cylinder is supposed to be the "everyman's sports car" like the 5.0s used to be. The 5.0 is now suppose to be a high end sports car???? C'mon Ford, you're giving up the whole point of the V8 Mustang.

I'll be ordering a 2018 Base GT with just the PP and A10...that'll be $41.5K.:frusty:

Guess I should have specified. I meant 30 mpg average, not all highway. No one drives all highway on a daily basis.

And if you are driving your car right, you aren't getting anywhere close to 25 for a GT. 60 mph with the cruise on isn't driving this kind of car right. Heck, I don't even get 30 mpg average. Pretty close though.

I could see a Vette getting decent mileage. Like said before, it has a few advantages over the Mustang. You pay for those advantages in the price tag.
