you clearly have an outline of a previously installed centering ring. Now maybe you removed it after the first fiasco. In any event all of your studs are suspect at all 4 corners. Replace.

Also, you've replaced the hubs with a part from CarQuest. Go find a Ford part. Is the surface of the hub actually recessed so only the inner and outer rings are in contact with the wheel face?

And show us your lug titties nuts.

When I got my shoes mounted 4 years ago , I told em specifically "do NOT use an impact gun on my wheels & don't shut off the dash cam, please"

They did not do either. Checked the torque at home, all 4 corners bang on.
Next day, brought the whole shop coffee. Customer 4 life now.

See kids, politeness & appreciation goes along ways.

See how there is rust on one of the studs? The mechanic said that one cracked first

Work? Pushaw. Forum is more important!

Also show us mounting face of wheel and both faces of your aftermarket rotor.

When I bought my 6Gr rims they gave me the lug nuts and told me to torque to 105ft/lbs. I said, you mean 150? They said absolutely not, 105. No idea if that has to do with this, but heads up. I confirmed on their website a while ago, but they have recently removed the asterisk with 105ft/lbs max torque. Packaging of the lugs might specify..?

Max torque is a function of fastener diameter and thread pitch. 105 was the M12 spec from all previous Mustang, not m14 that comes with S550.

Unless your lug nuts are aluminum in which case the figure is also much less than steel.

I have seen repeated sheds / snaps when spacers are in place but in the absence of those, more than once is definitely peculiar. Possible over torque / bad shop practices as some other members have alluded to.

I’m going to buy a manual torque wrench to monitor them. It happened too many times. If this is what is causing it. What I don’t understand is why is it only happening to my Mustang and not any other cars that I own. They’re all taken to the same types of tire shops. Any ideas?
any torque wrench recommendations? Link?

the harbor freight "pittsburg" is good enough for purpose.
You never addressed the backstory on why a CarQuest hub and the accompanying studs.

The lug nuts are from American Muscle and those broke off and before that the lug nuts were from the rim manufacturer and they broke off as well. That hub was replaced a while back same issue. The lug nut are the black one with the lock on them. I’ll try to find the listing.
Why doesn’t this happen to my other cars?
