Ok. Just picked up my first s550, a 15’ GT, car was on some poked out niche 20’s and lowered with Eibach sportlines. I bought it knowing I’d redo it eventually. Well that’s 2 months ago, and after new 275’s on 11” wheels..I know..yuk

It was noticed it was rubbing and just too low. So sold the wheels and got a set of 8.5/10” - 20” Am PP wheels and waiting for new lugs, or I’d post a pic ,but mock-up seems better. But still gonna be close. Old wheels had A shallow backspace.

It doesn’t have c&c plates now and sux when spirited driving and is bouncy, bumpsteering mofo. Don’t like the eibach sport lines. Which I think are progressive. So I dont want that style and just a small .5” ish drop

I see bmr and steeda have some options.

Spring and shock/strut Suggestions? Mine as well replace the 77k mile oem s& struts , tires are 255/35 front and 305/30 rear.
Car is not a track car but I drive it. ;)

Any other upgrades that are worthy while stuff is apart?
Not Afraid to spend a little more if I have fo.

I just ordered Steeda min drop springs for my PP1. I already had the Ford Performance track dampers in the rear for a year now. Which was a huge improvement over the horrible PP1 dampers. I can't imagine what the base model dampers are like.

I'm going to install the springs and drive with the PP1 struts for the remainder of this year and will likely upgrade them to the FP track versions in the future.

The FP track kit M-FR3A-M8A is highly regarded for street or track use and you get all the goodies at once with that including new strut mounts. Says 1" drop but it's usually half that.

The FP track handling package might answer all your needs…
Your issue might not be the amount of drop but the fact that you have pretty aggressive springs on stock dampers.

Eibach Pro-Lines were always the set in-between stock and Sport-Lines for drop ... assume they still make 'em.

There's a sticky thread on drop and spring rates. Start there.

Ok, so fedex got delayed for 2 days, so still Waiting on lugs to put it on the ground and see how it sits. I could live with shimming it up, but the ride bugs me.
Half the problem from before is they had a wide wheel with like a 30mm offset and 275’s, so it poked and couldnt Get a pinky between tire and fender

Now I went to a 1/2” in farther backspace wheel, but wider, and also shorter 27” tall now.

These steeds minimum drop springs look about what I want, a little lower, most likely no need for camber plates

The FP track handling package might answer all your needs…

My car is a base car, but a previous owner did the front brembos and bigger sway bar up front.

Rear sway bar looks small and Oem I assume.

I can’t tell if the rear bump stops were changed. But at 100’ish a bump becomes quite a bump if you know what I’m saying..lol.. Like dumb

Been reading. I was deep into foxbodies,
Life happened and was out of the scene for 10 years and back now in a s550, so quite a jump and not up to date on everything anymore.

Update-
Car is back on the ground. I’ll snap a pic later , With 305/30’s and American muscle PP wheels/ 7.4 backspace and these springs is about a thumbs width of clearance vs I could not get my pinky in between before.

Kinda confirmed what I thought, but it hadn’t been on the ground in a month.

The drivers side sticks out a 1/4” more from the body on drivers side vs the pass side that’s in a 1/8” +

So making a shopping cart at Steeda
-Alignment bushings
(4 Deleon deals)
-jacking rails

Maybe
- 1/8” or 1/4” billet spring spacers
-contemplating the alum bushing kit to go with the alignment kit.

Or just getting the stage 1 stop the hop kit

I just did this same kit FR3 - drop was not 1', less than that, but perfect for me.
Keep an eye out there is a FP "street" kit and then the "track" kit.
The track kit is very livable on the street. Front struts are fully assembled, and comes with all nuts you need to replace.

Just a heads up when threading the subframe bolts after the alignment dowels are inserted... I haven't done it yet as I am waiting for the rest of my suspension parts to arrive, but I have heard it's very easy to get them cross-threaded.

Drzed- looks the same is the pics? As in looks like next to no drop from pic to pic

stangtime- gotcha!

Tjsteeda- I appreciate it.. That’s it, not sure what way I want to go, this is unexpected expenses and my supercharger money..well was..

The springs/shocks/struts just feel bouncy on the road and the car lifts and transfers weight in a stupid way with this setup

Must be the angle of the picture. The drop was about 0.75". It is amazing what even less than an inch will do to the visual of the car. Let us know what you decide! Have fun with it.
