Hello all,

I just purchased a 2015 GT premium package Race Red manual and am looking to do a few cosmetic mods, one being a modest drop. I am leaning towards the BMR performance springs. Hoping I can get some guidance.

I do not have the performance package. I am correct based on my searching that I can use my stock shocks and struts with these springs? Also, I see all this talk about vertical links, adjustable toe rods, camber bolts, etc... Do I need all of this or am I fine with just the springs?

Also, I had the Ford 20" Foundry machined wheels. Would you all recommend that I get spacers with the drop for a better appearance?

Any other guidance would be appreciated as well. I will not track this car, I just am looking for a nice stance.

Hi Todd, and congrats on the new ride! You can use pretty much every lowering spring with the stock struts and shocks and you will be fine. All the other parts will enhance the ride, but they are not necessary if you are just looking for a lowered stance. I cant speak for BMR, but Steeda makes great springs, they have a progressive spring that may be a good option for you. contact David@Steeda on here and he can square you away. I would recommend that you lower it, get an alignment then see if you want to add spacers to help push the wheels closer to the fenders for that flush look. Congrats again!

Yes you can use the factory shocks although their lifespan could potentially be shortened. You do not need all the extra parts but they all play a part in reducing wheel hop, dialing in your alignment, and increasing overall performance. As for the wheels, the mild offset will be more noticeable if you lower the car and a set of small spacers will definitely make the car look much more aggressive. Make sure you get a hub centric spacer. If my memory serves me right, a 5mm spacer will make it sit pretty flush.

Thanks for the responses. I've seen alot of posts mentioning 25/23mm spacers. Would mine be less because of the model wheel I have? Also, regarding the other optional parts I mentioned, are any of them a good bang for the buck and/or easy to install because I will already be there in that area when removing the springs?

these guys went with 1" spacers, looks like it sets the 20" wheels flush with the fenders. I would say if you are gonna add more parts while you are doing the install, I'd go with sway bars in addition to the springs. If you are not an overly aggressive driver the other parts will not do as much for you as a good set of springs, sways and shocks. Even lowered, there should be enough room with the factory pieces to put everything back to spec with your alignment. You may have a little bit of negative camber up front, but it will help with handling.

Ok guys, I can't make up my mind what would be best for me. I'm looking at either the linear BMR SP080 or the Steeda progressive springs. Again, this will be a street car only. I like a nice comfortable ride, but I do like to take the turns aggressive occasionally. (Live in WV so we have some bad roads and lots of turns).

I've read up on the technical differences between the two, and multiple posts. Still can decide what is best for me. And is one better on stock stuts/shocks than the other? I've seen lots of the Steeda progressives for sale on this site which kind of makes me wonder why....

Thoughts?
