So I have a 2016 GT Premium that had the typical headlight glaze/scratches and just overall wear from the elements. It looked bad, but not enough to go buy new lights. Then I had the corrosion of the hood. Got a replacement hood and they painted it the front fenders to blend it. Now the headlights really stood out and now I needed to do something. I figured what have I got to lose to try 1 of these headlight restoration kits. I've seen them used before and it seemed like a lot of work because they all were done by hand. I came across 1 that attached to a drill, so I bought it.

$14.97 at Walmart.

Starting with this

1st start with tape to protect the fresh paint.

Now start with the 800 grit sandpaper and water. Keep it wet.

Wipe it off to make sure its evenly sanded.

Now follow that up with the 1500 grit, then 2000 grit making sure to use plenty of water. Then wipe and see where your at. Depending on where your progress is, longer with the 2000 may be needed to make the last step better. The last step is just a buffer pad and buffing compound. This is where the results will show. The whole process took about 30 minutes and 3 beers. But the results speak for themselves. Not sure how long they will stay like this before hazing back up, but I'm now on the lookout for a clear UV protectant for them.

Looks good. I put ppf on mine when I got it to avoid this—maybe that could be the uv protectant you are looking for?
