Have you and your Mustang influenced others to own one?

Yep. I got my Mach 1 and about four months later @ShapeShifter (my best friend in real life) ended up getting one as well. It didn't stop there. My wife saw how much fun I was having in the Mach 1 that she asked for a Mach E GT. We sold the still very new Hyundai Palisade once the Mach E GT arrived. ShapeShifter's wife is now waiting for her GT California Edition to be produced.

Mustang's make boring drives exciting and they are still easy to live with on a daily basis.

3/4 Mustang's mentioned above came from @Zach@Granger
It's been a fun year that's for sure! My wife's Mischievous Purple California Special is scheduled to be built next week. Can't wait to have 2 'stangs parked in the garage. This will be my second from @Zach@Granger - thanks Zach/Granger!

My father, who lives in Canada, got the muscle car bug when he saw my Mach 1 but he opted for a Camaro instead of a Mustang...

I was detailing my wheels in my driveway and a neighborhood I had not previously met stopped and asked if I liked my Mustang. I told him I loved it. He said he always wanted one.
I said to do it and that he wouldn’t regret it.
I later found out he purchased a new GT PP1 the very next weekend.
He even came back and thanked me for the advice!

I fell in love with the Mustang when I was a kid after riding in my uncles Foxbody.. same with my two younger cousins. Through out the years I have had 8 different Mustangs, countless compliments through out the years, kids requesting for revs, etc.. I am sure at least one person I have come across has fell in love with the Mustang.

I’ve always gotten compliments on my 15 Mustang, especially once I put the spoiler, side scoops on, then again after I got the GT upper/lower grill, custom deck lid badge and the stripes. She’s 7 years old and still gets lots of looks and comments. I know of only one person though who bought one based on talking to me. Who knows, perhaps I influenced a few more in my travels lol!

Does a good mate and a next door neighbor count?

Around here, people drool over giant SUVs and 4 door pickup trucks. If you drive a car, they think you are strange. Cars are just for shows, not to actually use on a regular basis. I have family members asking why I don't buy a nice sensible SUV.

I lost a 2002 ZO6 from a flood In 2011.

A friend of mine gave me a ride in a 2007 Roush RS3 to go look at a used 2010 ZO6. (The 2010 Z was in terrible condition)

I was impressed by the 427R and ordered a new 2012 Roush RS3 5 days later.

Then bought a 2019 GT350. Very happy with both cars.

I haven't influenced any friends to buy one. The only one who would be a possibility bought a BMW X3 M Competition a couple years ago, but he lives across the country from me. My closest friends aren't as much into cars as I am and are at least as old as me (early 60s). They tend to feel like their days of wanting a performance car are behind them. I've gotten some entertaining reactions from friends and former co-workers, though. Two different people said they didn't realize I drove a racecar. :giggle:

This topic might apply to me. Bought my 16 in 18, bought the wife 07 v6 in 19, and then a 03 GT in 19, and 20GT PP for her birthday / 25 year anniversary. And just a a couple weeks ago my 78 year old Dad brought home a 22GT PP

Thank goodness he bought one. I thought you were gonna say the next weekend yours was gone.:giggle:

My car influenced a couple of people. Both said they weren't really Mustang guys until they rode with me. The exhaust note and the highway pulls against the mopar and chevys that always try to play with me changed their mind from what I'm told.

That said...they aren't really car guys.

My friends and family are impressed that I finally satisfied a 50+ year itch to own a muscle car that I couldn't justify back in circa 1965-1972, and with the specific choice that I made, but it won't entice them to own one.

A Mustang GT (or similar) simply isn't practical or refined enough to sway them. They are either CUV/SUV practical or refined MB/BMW/Porsche sports car types.
