Has anyone replaced their stock steering column with an IDIDIT column?

I came across this and was wondering if anyone has replaced their stock S550 steering column with this one, which is a decent weight savings:

What's your planned use for the car? Unless you're building a dedicated track car with race seats, a cage, and 5/6 point harnesses, I'd say it isn't a good idea. The factory column is designed to work in conjunction with the active and passive restraints built into the car.
