Any pros/cons to the install? You didn't mount that weird microphone on the steering column shroud did you? Hide it away?

No problems within controlling anything like HVAC controls?

How about any firmware updates, have you had to do anything like that?
Did you get a new display? I have a 19 GT Premium 401a with the security suits and 9 speaker stereo. I actually hate the display controls or lack of controls for things like the stereo equalizer etc. The Nav doesn't impress either. I emailed their Tech and asked if it was a plug and play set up. And if it is compatible with all of my OEM settings, controls. Does it have better equalizer controls, and does it have a an aux bass coaxal output to run signal wire to my Bass amp etc. What do you think.

I thought the system can use the mic already in the car so you don’t need to add that hideously big mic in the car.

No aftermarket radio available can reuse the existing mic in any car. You always have to use the mic that the manufacturer of the aftermarket headunit provides, no matter if it is Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, you name it... all have to use their own microphone.
Dynavin is no different.

Bummer, I would not upgrade the display when the new display is a downgrade from OEM. It would look stupid in my opinion to mount a mic externally some where in the cabin. To bad

Depending on where you put that mic you wont notice it really.
I have put the Kenwood mic above the rearview mirror. It's barely visible to be honest.

Has anyone that installed the Dynavin n8pro been able to assign the station logos on the screen for your presets? I cannot get them to display I followed the directions in the manual but no luck.

To be frank what I am concerned with all these units is support after the sale. They seem to be non existent.
Well, speaking from the BMW side, I know headunits like eonon's, xtron's and avin's can often leave much to be desired for customer service. Dynavin at least has real North American distribution/support (J&T Distributing Inc is Dynavin North America). Jeff from J&T is often found on e46fanatics posting product updates and taking questions from forum members. I've yet to find anyone who has faulted Dynavin for bad customer service.

I have a N7 Pro in my E46 and have been very happy with it. Every once in a long while it may lock up or do something stupid and I just give it a quick forced reboot, aside from that it does everything I was looking for which was android auto + ipod hookup in my e46.

Some facts regarding Dynavin. The manufacturer is a german company.
The actual model is the D8-MST2015H7L Pro.
The unit is much worser compared the the N7 version. I read several block in german about it.
I contacted them regarding copnnection of a front camera.
You need to buy a camera switch with external control button. You cannot connect a second camera directly as before. nIn addition some SW function missing as well.
N7 versioon a lot of peolpe liked it.

If it supports wireless CarPlay it will support wired CarPlay as well.

To use wireless CarPlay you need to pair with Bluetooth first.
But still wired CarPlay is always possible.

this is the cut/paste from their email.

"Carplay is currently wireless only. Cable is only used for charging."

Then this unit is crap. Wired CarPlay is in the CarPlay specs from Apple.
