Has anyone installed the standard 2018 gauge cluster in a 2015-2017? (Includes digital speedometer)

What part of Texas are you in? My friend has supercharged 2016 400A GTPP that he us in the middle of auto swapping and he already got a 2016 auto cluster off ebay and took it to the shop doing the swap but I'm thinking about getting him a 2018/9 cluster as a present so he can have the higher redline tach and more gauge options.
I'm north of McKinney, in Sherman.

Yes, MT82 to 6R80, but there have been ads lot of bumps along the road. The shop told him two weeks and they have had it four and a half months.

When you installed the 19 cluster did you happen to notice if the tach face illumination changing to red at redline automatically changed from 6500RPM to 7400RPM? I'm wondering if that feature is programmed into the cluster or the car ECU or BCM?

I haven't noticed. I would think it would match the cluster redline. I'm actually in Austin working untill Wed but will check it out Thursday and let you know.

Any luck taking it to redline this weekend? This also assumes the gauge changing to red at 6500 or 7400 is something programme and saved in the cluster and independent of where your tune has the rev limiter set.

Just got her up to 7200 RPM and the dash did not turn red.
I would say it is going with the cluster and not the car.

nice to hear it worked out and great second option. people should be cautious when buying used clusters off ebay as some sellers advertise them as 2015-2018 and should make sure the cluster was pulled from a 2018 so it has the correct firmware.

I wonder if its possible to load 18+ IPC firmware into a 15-17 IPC to get the digital speedometer. Using forscan.

Where to get the correct firmware?

IT also seems I noticed on a 2017 GT350 with the Analog gages, someone had the Digital speedo option like the analog gages from a 2018+. I am not sure if he updated his IP or if it was an option on the GT350... might be worth looking into...
