There's a reason why they charge $1000. If you're good with vinyl and cutting go for it. It's not easy to do. Even the precut kits are a pain to install with so many bends and creases.

Pre-cut clear bra

I thought I would apply the clear bra myself and save a lot of labor charges.
The bra had pre-cut pieces. I used the recommended isopropyl alcohol as a lubricant. I even bought a special squeegee made for the installation.
After four attempts at getting the bubbles and creases I made out of the plastic..I gave up and peeled all of the material off.
Subsequently I picked up the convertible from the dealer...not a bubble or crease. The only way to detect the plastic was to carefully use a flashlight along the edges. The installer has been doing this for a decade and it showed.

It's not easy. Wrapping a roof is one thing but a bumper is another.

It's only $33, so big whoop if you fail. Go for it

Yes. I have done a few of my cars. The Mustang isn't the easiest. The front bumper takes time and patience. One key is the film itself. I use xpel and is very easy to work with. I would NOT recommend that or any film costing that little. Ask for a sample. I've ordered low cost films before and the quality was a joke and impossible to install. Not having it precut will also be a challenge.

I'm more worried about my hood. I have a ton of chips in it and it is getting repainted by Ford, so I want to protect it when I get it back. I'm hoping it won't be too bad if I remove the heat extractors.

What's the advantage of using alcohol vs soap? I've seen both used on the YouTube videos I've watched.

Hood is pretty easy.
Soap is used to make the film moveable for positioning.
The alcohol is a tacking solution, used in spots to hold the film down so you can stretch it.
Xpel has a good video of this. Just YouTube it.

It takes a special touch and eye to get it right without bubbles.
