Has anyone actually broken a half shaft

Has anyone actually broken a half shaft. If so what power level. Standard auto? 60 foot times before they broke?

I can't run any kind of times on street tires and a drag radial is on the car now. Just wondering how long these stock shafts are going to make it

Your auto should be a lot safer than the manual cars. Autos seem to be able to handle higher hp than the manuals on stock axles

Well if it doesn't, repeated attempts may wreck havoc on that clutch!

I broke one on about the 4th launch with 305 35 19 nt05rs on stock gt pp wheels. My car was stock other than a tune and jlt. I was launching at 3k and it was not hooking well. My 60ft was no better than 1.95. It let go when I went to 3rd gear.
