Know a guy who was killed last week working under a truck when the truck fell on him. Take this serious. Dont know what kind of supports he was or was not using

Pittsburgh 6 ton item # 567369

Recall is for 56371, 61196, and 61197

I should be good. Was debating on these cause being under a car with jack stands scare the crap out of me. This recall ain’t helping :(

Anytime you can work under a vehicle with the tires sitting on rigid supports you should. Only use stands where the suspension has to be unloaded

Damn, that is scary. I've always been nervous using any jack stands. I'll usually stack wood blocks instead of jack stands if I'm going to be wrenching underneath the vehicle. Thanks for finding this and bringing this to everyone's attention. I can't believe this hasn't been all over the news.

China Manufacturing n steel? What could go wrong. Is Wein-Werner HW93503, still American made? My are stamped USA with the flag. Worth investing to see if so.

Apparently the issue is the tang that holds the pawl, a lot of them weren't bent right and barely grab it. I used to have a set of these and I my friend noticed that and modified them so they were far less sketchy.

I have to check mine.

but I’ve wanted to get those race ramps or whatever they are where they have the indentations for the tires to fit into. I think this’ll be what prompts me to go that route.

I have those, they're very nice if a bit pricey. Just keep in mind that the "cribs" for the rear tires are sold separately from the main ramps. I have the XT 1500lbs version with the cribs.
