Oh wow that’s so cool!

Yeah, he and Tim Allen would be on my short list of celebrities to meet and chat with. Both seem like regular, down to earth kind of people. I have family in the LA area and they’ve seen Leno show up to various car shows, cars and coffees and whatnot. Talks to everyone that wants to talk and lets kids sit in whatever car(s) he brings, no matter the value of the car.
I appreciate that Jay Leno is able to acquire rare vehicles, as he takes care of them, he graciously shares for others to enjoy automotive history. Sure he makes money off of sharing, but that helps fund, maintain these marvels, and purchase more to preserve. We have a lot of folks in this world preserving cars, thankfully, but Jay uses his public influence well, to share knowledge that otherwise could be lost. I know much more cool stuff about awesome car history because of him.

I retract my statement. :) . Cool car. Must have been nice to see it in person and brand new.
It was cool to see it in person and even at 8 years old I knew it was something different and unique. I just wish I could remember if I saw the mustang as well, but it just did not make the impression the Chrysler did if I did see the mustang.

It's the looks. Trust me.
I’ll just say, my local dealer had about 10 S650’s on the lot a couple weeks ago. As soon as the Ford employee pricing was announced and the dealer layered additional discounts on top of that pricing, all but 2 sold within a week. Don’t think that’s a looks issue.

Having said that, there are plenty that won’t buy them based on the looks, so that is part of it. But I do think price is the biggest factor for S650. Just my personal opinion based on what I’ve observed locally. I’ve seen quite a few on the road here

I can agree price would push one to buy because of a great deal.

But, I have not met a purist who likes the 7G. I have not seen a 7G at a car show. And, past gen changes have made us all feel like a kid in candy store. That is dead with 7G. IMO, the 7G is not a muscle car. Just a touring car.

I'll pick the one on the left every time.
I admired the S550 the first moment I saw one. Not so with the S650. I'm very glad to keep my low mileage S550 made towards the end of the run.

There is nothing wrong with the 650 that a new dash, er I mean a REAL dash and a price drop would't cure.

I happened to see that De Tomaso is going to make a limited run of super cars powered by a hand built Coyote. Much like the Pantera was powered by Ford 351 or 429's. The thing I found interesting. was that they made a big point that the dash was going to have analog gauges, and not a digital infotainment dash and console. The cost will be around a million.

I still won't buy one, but the S650 is growing on me.

Only 72 will be made.
