Hi all

Thought I'd let you people know that I just signed up for collector insurance through Hagerty.

It is a 'second' vehicle of mine, is parked in a locked garage, and driven less than 5000 miles a year.

No tickets/points and no accidents/claims in over 6 years for me and I'm 44.

I initially started with Allstate. 1 year premium, $1,520.88
Hagerty, $625.00 for a year and I do still have my old 97 Cobra that my friend now owns on there as well.
$500.00 deductibles for both Collision and Comprehensive.
Regardless, if I were to only insure the 15 by itself, it was still only $885.00 per year.

Maybe this is something that you guys could look into if it's not your DD GT.

Thanks,
Brian :sunglasses:

How are you insuring a vehicle that you no longer own (97 cobra)... ?? Unless I’m reading that totally wrong...

I went a similar route with my 19, but I went through Grundy. $700 for the year and $50k agreed value.

I looked into Hagerty for mine as well since I have an old car insured through them, but my cost would have been slightly higher than what I currently pay through my normal carrier for my drivers.

I need to revisit it with them though, since I got the quote online and the other car wasn't a factor. Might be a different story if I speak with someone.

It's easy. Just put my friend's name and DL number on the policy and they pay for it.

after working in the car business, i don't like using small companies... they are HORRIBLE to pay claims... geico, progressive, usaa, etc are super fast and painless... ocean harbor, wind haven, etc are a nightmare

So the 97 is not owned by you, but at a totally separate location and not at your household (address) and not under your Driver Lic or DMV Registration? How is that possible?

That sounds like a major liability disaster ....
