Hello,
As the title of this thread says, I had a full PPF done on my 2020 GT350 and got it back around the end of June. I was told to give it a couple of weeks to let it dry out to close some remaining air gaps/water in the PPF. It's been a bit longer than that due to various personal things, but I think I have given it enough time.
I tend to be a perfectionist and I know I am pickier than most, but I need your help/feedback to know how outraged I should be based on the job done. Taking a step back the job looks good, but up close and there are a number of flaws. I believe the place will fix the obvious stuff (peeling film), however I'm not sure how the fit and finish of the film should be expected.
One of the reasons I went with a full PPF (I know it is overkill) was to not have film lines on my car and ensure the vinyl stripes were protected the same, especially because it is white. The shop told me they extend the edges of the film so that the film could cover all of the edges, but it doesn't look like they really did this to me. In my opinion some of the way the film edges match up is not good, especially for the 7K I paid for the job... See some sample pictures below of the worst of it.
Quick notes:
They said they would remove the door handles and mirrors so there were no seams around them and they didn't
They said they would remove the GT350 badges to film under them and they didn't
Some of the edges are not covered at the front fender and side door where imo are high risk impact zones (pictured). They may have called them relief cuts?
The wrap job on the spoiler is not consistent on each side. There are gaps.
There are lots of gaps around the license plate area
So, is this normal for a PPF wrap or should I feel the wrath of Karen inside of me and request it all be repaired? I fear that they will not play ball outside of the obvious film peeled back.
I appreciate your feedback and apologies for the novel. I love the car otherwise, what a machine.
