I live in illinois. My 1st line if defense is a Remington nitro mag 887 with hollow points. My back up is a tried and true llama 1911 9mm.

I believe in the 2nd amendment, but also in sensible gun laws.

"Sensible" can be defined a 1000 different ways. llinois gun laws require residents to have a valid Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card to possess a firearm or ammunition. There is a waiting period of 72 hours after buying a handgun to take possession of it. Your State Law is Unconstitutional.

Sorry, I agree that they aren't sensible.

Georgia is called a "Castle State" (GA is the 13th original State so that goes back to English Law). We are allowed as many guns as we need to protect our home, our family, and our business from deadly force. No questions asked. A dude tries to yank me out of my car (car is property), and I can be fire on him. I would aim to a leg to stop him.

I have a carry licence so I can carry concealed (not in a government building or a school). We can get a quick carry license with a background check (no felonies or domestic violence). That seems sensible to me.

I just spent the price of two tires:

I bought a 1967 Winchester Model 94 in new condition with box and paperwork. It fires the normal 30/30 round.

I say great value. I am also worried about the democrats and their communist and socialist views. I will protect my space with deadly force.

I believe the US us a melting pot. We have rights broad enough where I can be any religion I want, and still respect your religion and beliefs. Even if I don't, you still have your rights. As do I.

Maybe the Dems don't want to take away my guns because they're Dems. But when people are liberal enough to think that my guns should be taken away, and they happen to be Dems, it's really just semantics.

The risks I see with too much liberalism in government - too much progressivism, if you will - is that it tends to be neither satisfied with compromise nor agreeable that opposing opinions have any merit. Perhaps it's true that as population density increases to traditional city neighborhood levels, violence in general becomes more common. But that shouldn't mean that less densely populated portions of the country need live under regulations aimed at curbing city violence.

In the wider sense, socialism has under it the concept of social democracy, and within that lies the notion of social justice . . .

Social justice is a concept of fair and just relations between the individual and society, as measured by the distribution of wealth, opportunities for personal activity, and social privileges.

IOW, where society might be entitled to full control over individual privileges. The problem comes in establishing what might be fair and just, which isn't necessarily as uniform as those armed with one-sided good intentions might have the rest of us believe.
