I'm subscribing to this ! I'd love to somehow, some way trade my carbon fiber R wheels for a GT500 carbon fiber set.

I know it'll be rough since the GT500 probably wont be able to use the 350R 19 inch wheel in the front because of the giant brakes.

Following up on this.....They do fit without any issues depending on your taste. No rubbing in the front, rears poke quite a bit but I don’t mind the look. The surprising thing was the weight difference. 500 wheels/tires are 8 lbs heavier in the rear and 6 in the front. Overall I’m happy with the purchase

@OP, what size tires do you have on the front and rear? i've been looking at these for my '19 GT PP, and like you, am a bit concerned about the poke. thanks.

My question would be, why would you want to?

Firstly, as pointed out above, the wheels are typical of Ford OEM wheels and insanely heavy.

Second, it's not just sheer weight, it's weight of the worst kind, unsprung and rotational (even further away from the center of rotation).

You can do plenty of vid searches to see what big (diameter) heavy wheels does for dyno results (it saps hp and torque turning them). It also makes for much more labored braking (to slow down those rotating pigs).

I understand wanting the look of 20" but at least when it's done with an aftermarket wheel it can be lightened compared to the 350 stockers and result in either a wash or slight improvement with the change in looks.

But running the heavy 500 wheels, unless you just don't care about breaking and suspension livliness and overall power and you just want the look of 20" and you're getting them at a steep discount, I just don't see the point.

The general rule of thumb applies, run the smallest/lightest wheel you can run that clears the breaks (and still holds up to your use). The 500 non-CF wheels seem to do the opposite of that.

@Angrey - i'm looking for a second set of 20" rims and i like the look of the non-CF GT500 wheels. i have an opportunity to purchase from a GT500 owner who agreed to sell me his non-CF wheels after his car is delivered and he swaps wheels. my current wheel is the MRR M600, which i believe weighs 25lbs.

*spits out coffee*

Those look great on your car, but wow. I thought my OE 350 wheels were boat anchors.

To answer your question “why”. These are wheels for the street and I’m not worried about any performance loss on the street. You can only get about 1/3 of the capabilities of this car on the street anyways so i don’t care if it’s a little slower and takes a little longer to stop. Also, I like the look of a 20” inch wheel and found these from another forum member at a really good price. I have another set of wheel/tires for the track and I never said I would run these 500 wheels on the track. Hopefully that answers your question, everything else you said is common sense

I assume that weight increases is per one wheel/tire combo? So installing the GT500 wheels/tires was an increase of 28 lbs total? I was thinking about getting a set of GT500 wheels/tires for my GT, but that seems like a pretty big increase. GT350's come with Cup 2's correct? I am sure that will account for a pound or two each compared to the GT500's 4S tires, but still, that means the wheels alone are most of the difference. Ford's website states the GT500 wheels are Flow Formed, figured since they are 20's and flow formed, they would at least be the same weight or slightly less then an OEM 19" GT350 wheel, guess not. Still, I do think that are good looking wheel.

Yes you are correct, 28lb increase between all 4. Keep in mind though these have way more rubber than the stock tires being 315 and 305. Stocks are 295 and 305. Like you, I really like the look of these wheels.

Is the inverse true? Will GT350 wheels fit on a GT500? Just wondering if I upgrade to a GT500 can I take my wheels with me, mine are close to the weight of the GT350R CF wheels, but aren't CF. I honestly can't stand the look of the GT500 wheels, Don't mean to offend anyone, they just look boring to me like the new vette wheels.

The rears might work, but the fronts definitely would not clear the larger brakes.
