That’s great.

I am talking about the design. The GT500 interior is a better design.

Leather wrapped 90s interior is still 90s interior. While I don’t own a Vette, my experience inside the C7 is that is seems a bit cheap. On the contrary, a Bullitt that I was in recently had a very upscale feel to its interior,.

the Vette interior is nice. But the GT5090 interior is much nicer from a visual standpoint. Not even a comparison.

Some things are even inexcusable on the Vette, such as vast expanses of plastic with a square shaped button in it next to a circle knob. No rhyme or reasons. It’s really astonishing that it is so haphazard.
You thinking it's a better design is your opinion. It's a fact that the Corvette has better materials, less hard plastics, and offers a really nice leather interior package that covers the dash and all touch surfaces.

I agree with that. The materials are way better in the Corvette, but the design isn't as good.

Google says 4.2 seconds 0-60 for a 2019 911 that costs $113,000. Definitely a lot slower than the GT500.

:giggle:
I wouldn’t rely on “Google says...” Car and Driver did instrument testing on the 2017 base 991.2 Carrera with the PDK and it did 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. So no, a base 911 is not “definitely a lot slower than the GT500.” They also do not start at $113,000. Porsche notoriously states a higher 0-60 time if you’re getting it from there too. You can find several other articles testing the newer 911’s that have similar results. Just wanted to clear that up. Not that 0-60 times matter that much once you’re under 4 seconds it’s crazy fast in my opinion. I just couldn’t spend $100k on a GT500. Like I said at $75k it makes sense to me. Anything over that and I couldn’t justify it and I love Shelby’s!

Edit: here’s the link to the C&D article:

Well now we have pricing now we have options. Now we just need to see performance from the mags. When pricing was first announced I went and spec out what my GT500 would be. I actually first thought 77,108 ??? Wow ! That would be my price for the GT500 I would want. TO /w blue vinyl stripe/Tech pack/ Black painted roof. Then I went onto a few sites and looked at other cars that would be in the same category and market, with close or similar specs and found that my GT500 was actually a deal or right where the competitors were. Let's see,

1. The Dodge RedEye, (non widebody) 82,105. https://www.dodge.com/build.challen...XY,MXN,UAQ,AJV,AMA,AAY,ADG,APA,X9,PVP,27Z,3EJ
2. The Camaro ZLE (Zl1 LE) was 73,085 after the discounts.
3. A Lexus is LC500 was 105.290k. (Please stop with it's a Lexus. In England it's a Toyota.) https://www.lexus.com/build-your-le...,-a-:[-FP-,-LD-,-PA-,-ML-],-p-:[-PQ-],-z-:[]}
4. BMW M4 Orange, same options, 78,800 https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-own.html#/studio/dy43nlwi/summary
5. Vette Z06 1LZ package, orange https://www.chevrolet.com/performance/corvette-z06-sports-car/build-and-price/summary
6. Porsche... Well since I am not a expert of these models, I will just leave the link. I know the 911 is the competing model I would guess....but that's where my knowledge end. https://www.porsche.com/usa/

These are cars I can think of that I would also look at for a performance vehicle. Those prices are how they would be build out. I was looking at the options, and I not just the engine and suspension, but all options. When you really compare and cross shop, the GT500 is actually a pretty good deal.
I see people asking for a car that can compete with these vehicles, but expect it to cost 50k. Seriously ?? So now looking at this list, is the GT500 really over priced ? (Yes 10k for painted stripes is a bit much)

Your thoughts ? Let's see them.
Remember you get what you pay for and you are never sorry when you buy the best.

Yeah again, I was still referencing 0-60 but I agree 1/4 mile time on the 911 is disappointing considering how fast it is off the line. I still don’t think I could pull the trigger on a $100k mustang versus a $100k 911 though. If the GT500 was going to be made in more limited production I could understand the price point more. I dunno, we’ll see in a year or so how it’s looking. I have no doubt it’ll be an awesome car regardless!

It is ONLY overpriced if no one buys one... If people buy them, then no, it is not over priced. It might be too expensive for you, but not necessarily over priced.

Considering it starts about the same price as the window sticker for my 2016 RS3, I do not think it is too far off base.

The thing is, a $100,000 911 is one of the lower models with very few or no options. A $100,000 Mustang will be the best Mustang loaded up with everything.

If like we're talking ideal interiors, I'd like the GT500 interior with the Corvette seats. :)
