I like to disassemble things.
I learned today about some of what they are not required to do or get reimbursed for. This was internal from Ford to the dealer service network...

If your dealer will install the above items and not charge you then great, that's on them. I think up until now everyone thought it was their responsibility.

And I don't know why some would ship with this equipment installed unless it was for testing purposes.

That sucks, but they just did it as part of the PDI for me. It would be a slap in the face if they ask you for 2 hours of labor on top of the price of the car. On top of that he gave me every bit of merch that he had, like the paperweight supercharger, coffee cup and posters. Every dealership is different, but I hope no one pays for PDI.

My dealer installed the front splitter wickers as he was installing the front splitter. But he left the Gurner flap and oil separator for me to install.

I wanted to install everything myself. I am glad I did because the front splitter and oil catch were more technical than I have found PDI techs to be able handle, lol.

My PDI Tech made a comment about removing the strut tower brace to install the oil separator. At that point I said “leave it alone..” :headbang:

OBVIOUSLY, old and lazy KB got lucky with his. Experienced and friendly mechanic and no charge.

But, you can bet that most dealers who get that notice will start charging or, put the stuff back in the car for you.

As my Mother used to say..follow the money. :-)

I may be pulling my STB if my car has this hose issue.

Apparently, there are quite a few GT500's with the issue.

It looks like it would be pretty easy to determine if the problem does exist.

It is easy. I think plenty have the issue but are unaware of it.
