We’ve been over the weight. The supercharged ZLE M6 weighs ~3,840 lbs. Remove the supercharger and intercooling circuit and heat exchangers, and the car would weigh less. Not to mention the drivetrain for a 650 ft lbs supercharged would be plenty beefy enough for a NA V8. Add in other weight loss tidbits and a theoretical Z28 would be low 3,7xx lbs.

For another comparison, the 6th Gen Alpha Camaro weighs 150-200 lbs less than the 5th Gen, trim for trim. The 5th Gen Z28 was 3,860 lbs, with carbon ceramics. Subtract 175 lbs and add back 40 for iron brakes and you get 3,725 lbs., with carbon ceramic brakes optioned in it comes in under 3,700 lbs. I just don’t see anyway that it would weigh more than a ZLE.
Maybe low 3,700 lbs is possible, but probably not 3,500 lbs like @SRT said even with lots of CF bits ( I doubt it is what I'm saying). I assume even the engine itself is at least somewhat heavier than the pushrod stuff. Maybe the weight of the engine would be similar to the ZL1 engine, but without the additional plumbing and cooling for the blower.

My assumption is a fully/well equipped version would be close in weight to the ZL1 - possibly 50 lbs less due to subtraction of the intercooler stuff. However, the addition of the dry sump might keep it nearly the same as the ZL1.

Remember the 5th gen Z had no radio, no speakers, no sound deadening, thin glass, yada yada. I doubt Chevy will build the theoretical car we're talking about, but if they do I really hope they don't relegate most of them to garage queen status by doing carbon ceramics or going over the top in any other way that makes the car difficult to live with as a daily/fun cruiser.

The LT6 is only 2 lbs heavier than the LT2 in the C8, which is an iteration of the LT1 in the Camaro (I mentioned that in one of my previous posts as well) so it's lighter than the supercharged LT4.

Realistically I think low 3,700 lbs as well. But, digging deeper: ZLE gets full creature comforts, GM has proven with the last Z28 they will push it to reduce weight but probably won't go as far this time around. Say we start at 3,725 lbs like I mentioned in my last post (Assumes ZLE M6 + lighter engine + no intercooler circuit + iron rotors). Say they reduce sound deadening (save 15 lbs), thin glass (5 lbs), CF roof (5 lbs) eliminate heating/cooling/elec Recaros for manual Recaros (10 lbs/side), plus other small random weight reduction like eliminate two stereo speakers (out of 9), eliminate trunk lid lining; all combine for about another ~50 lbs lighter, reducing it to a theoretical 3,675 lbs with a full tank of gas. Option in carbon ceramics drops it down to 3,635 lbs. Run half tank and the carbon brake optioned car would be 3,575 lbs w/out driver.

Surprising to me. I would think those huge heads would add some weight and the dry sump oiling system as well. It's a little scary if that engine is really light - what will long-term durability be like? And I looked it up - 8 quarts for a dry sump oiling system in that engine? Seems very low to me.

I for one would be interested in a LT6 A10 Z28. How would it compare to the CFTP?

I would be a buyer for a Gen6 z28, without question, and I would expect it to be $120k. But if you ask whether a tree that falls in the forest makes a sound, you’d accomplish the same thing.

LT6-yes please
Carbon brakes-yes please
Carbon wheels-yes please
M6-Nothing else will do
Abusive ride (sorry Nancy-boys)-YES PLEASE

But Mary Barra doesn’t care what I want. GM won’t build it. If they do, I’ll have a lightly abused ZLE for sale.

Yup and then add ADM. Would have been super bad ass to have a manual LT6 that got the z07 treatment.

Well considering Chevy is going to charge nearly 90k for a decal package on the present ZL1, I think we can anticipate pricing on a Z28 to be much higher.

If they build it, it will be an instant collector car. You won't see many actually being used anywhere.

But yet the GT500 is faster
By what standard ? The Z/28 Camaro went 7.37.47 (101 mph avg) vs the 7.39.28 (100mph avg) GT500 @ Nürburgring . BTW, 650 hp 2017 Camaro ZL1 came in at a time of 7:29 (quick internet search).

And the GT350R was claimed to have run a 7.32, your point is?
