I saw this car in person a few weeks ago when I went there to pick up some ordered parts.

They have a great person working in the parts department, but the general manager has his head up his ass obviously.

So - I drove by the Ford dealership today and saw a GT500 inside the showroom. I had a few minutes so I decided to go in and take a look. It is a beautiful car - darkish gray with dark blue stripes. I didnt even really look at the options very closely but the msrp was around $82k. The sticker price was $92k - is this the going rate for these cars - msrp + 10k? I'm not looking to buy one but was just surprised it was priced so far over msrp...
Oh GOD here we go again !!! It’s crazy these newbies bring up ADM and the group socialists go ape shit crazy

The proverbial case of stupid people and their money being quickly separated. Sick.
I'll play since it's a little slow around here. I find these comments kind of ironic. I doubt there are many people that are in a position to purchase a GT500 that are truly stupid. I paid $5k over for mine and in the past had said I never would pay over for any car. But with this car I realized something. I can have the exact car I want now, or wait indefinitely through unforseen circumstances and hope that I could find another years down the road. $5k was worth it to me for the chance to have the car, in my preferred spec, quickly. I will never say the car was "worth" over sticker, but my gratification was. And that's the true decision consumers must make. And that's why the market works the way it does, and is the only way feasible.

I have never even heard of ADM until I joined the forum. I have nothing against anyone paying it and if I had the money I might consider paying a small margin of ADM - I just didn't realize dealerships were doing this on the shelbys...

Guys I’ve been there before, complaining about the price of a car and saying I can buy a “base” 5.0L and put 30k mods into it. Truth is, every time you see a GT500 or Gt350 it just burns inside cause you want one no matter how fast your 5.0L is..... eventually that person will make more money to be able to afford it, and slowly that mentality fades always. Work hard, make money, buy what you want.

Aaaaaand when they first came out: The C4 ZR1.. And the C5Z... And the C6Z... And the C6ZR1... And the C7Z... And the C7ZR1... AND THE C8... And with 100% certainty the C8Z.. Just to use the Corvette as a simple example.

I take it you're pretty new to cars?

No, not really. I've purchased 4 new Ford trucks in the past 20 years and owned a 1965 FB since I was 16 (sold it last year to buy the my current GT) - I'm 38 now. I just haven't followed the sale prices of these desirable models I guess. Every new truck I have purchased at the end of the year quite a ways below msrp...

Gotcha. Didn't mean to come across as condescending, just an honest question. It took me several months to find a dealer that was willing to deal with a 'somewhat reasonable' ADM. Even then I had to go several states away. Not fun but just have to deal with it if you're after a very certain spec like I was...
