In theory one would want the ideal situation, everything critically dampened...but that doesn't happen very often. I would prefer a slightly overdampened front and slightly underdampened rear. I wouldn't risk it to go with PP struts.
Cool. Appreciate that info. So the gt350 front struts will fit on a standard mustang as well with the front springs? Does anyone have part numbers for the front struts and rear shocks? I'm assuming one would use rear shocks from the 350 like normal, using left and right?

I think someone had posted on another thread that the shocks don't fit, I don't remember the exact problem. Maybe the guy that tried it can chime in...

The mounting positions and method is different on the GT350 rear shocks. You'd need GT350 rear control arms to use them.

BMR SP088 rear springs pair well with the PP rear shocks. Much heavier, and you'll want a damper with better rebound control.

GT350 Struts

BMR, or any other larger than stock front adjustable Sway Bar
PP Rear 22.2mm rear bar

Who wants to try it? I may, if my Viking front coilover kit doesnt show up soon.

;)

A touch overdamped up front with that, no?

Minimally "over dampening" a front spring on this platform with a monotube high pressure gas shock is not going to be very noticeable.

Now, if you over dampen that same spring with a low/medium pressure twin tube...like some of them out there, it will be more noticed.....but not by much.

The rear is where you can really feel the dampening of the spring rate....as far as the good ole ass-o-meter.

Are you looking for a tester? I'll be happy to send you my address.

So the front struts off the 350 are good to but no rear shocks. Copy.

I'll drive to Tampa and pick up the parts! I'll be a tester :)

This... I like this. $560 in BMR parts plus whatever Ford wants for the rest, this is likely a sub-$1000 suspension mod. With my non-PP GT, this will likely be night and day. Edit: Ford parts come to $550 shipped bringing total to $1110. Not sub-$1000 but in the ballpark with the track pack.

With that price point, I don't think I would be heart broken if it doesn't work out. And if it doesn't, I think this would give a very good idea where to go next to really dial in the suspension to do what you want.

Orrr......you can skip the GT350 struts, and keep the rest of the list the same.

Use PP front take off struts if you have a non-PP...or if you have a PP, you have the dampers you need for a kit like this.

Fact of the matter is, our "Performance" rated springs work incredibly well with the OEM Dampers.

The other fact is, I have found the PP cars to ride much better, by using a 10% stiffer rear spring and trimming the bump stops. ;)

I did mine for: 511(FR track dampers)+48(2x GT350R fronts)+99(BMR SP095) = 658 plus shipping from White Bear Lake...pretty damn good deal for a nice spring/damper setup.
