I'm ordering DSC controller and I've asked them to put GT350R calibration file on the DSC controller. Here is what they said:

"Are you sure you want to do this calibration file? The GT350R file is really meant for the R model because the shocks are different between the GT350 and the GT350R. It will ride much softer on his GT350 if he runs that file."

Is that true? I was under the impression that GT350 and GT350 shocks were mechanically identical, only that they were programmed differently.

I have R springs and R rear sway bar. Should I go with the GT350 file?

From my limited understanding the difference is that because of the increased tires size the tuning is different, as far as the shocks go I really don't know

Also I plan to put on SV502 with R Cup 2's.

350R shocks & struts are different. I can't say how different other than it has something to do with the orifice the fluid passes through being smaller.

GT350R's are smaller? Any reason for that?

Okay, so I have both sets on hand - 350 and 350R. THEY ARE DIFFERENT INSIDE. The mechanical packaging is identical, but the hydraulic performance is very different. The R shocks are inherently stiffer and require less current to keep the chassis under control. If you run the low-current R calibration on the high-current non-R shocks the car will ride softer than it would with the proper calibration..

Makes sense. Are the R shocks worth the upgrade or are the GT350 shocks sufficient for my application?

I have the R springs, bars and dampers. It's magic. The non-R dampers will work with your setup but you might need to bump up the current a bit because of the stiffer springs, particularly at the front.

Do you have the R bar in the front? I hear GT350 and R front bars are identical.

From what I was able to determine, the 2016 front bar is the same on both variants.

They're $275-$300 each.
You are correct about the front struts at around $280 each but the rear shocks are much more expensive at around $412 each from AutoNation Ford White Bear Lake. It's $1,500 after taxes and shipping for the entire setup.
