2016 GT350 Track Pack - Race Red, Blk Roof - G5405
For 2016, the Non-R GT350 was available in 3 flavors: Base, Track Pack and Technology Pack. Base models were rare (177 made). How can one definitively and easily identify you are looking a 2016 Base Non-R GT350:

1) From the exterior?
2) From the interior?
3) From under hood?

Edit: Clarified the question.

No trans/diff coolers, no carbon fiber wheels and no wing on the trunk.
Tech Packs have big screen.

1) The dude who owns the car will tell you it’s a super rare base car while you walk up to it and notice the lack of an XM style antenna.

2)The dude who owns the car will tell you it’s a super rare base car while you’re commenting on it not having a radio.

3)The dude who owns the car will tell you it’s a super rare base car while you look under the hood and see it has no AC compressor.

In essence, the owner will tell you WAYYYYY too many times. Boom, solved!!

As stated, I am specifically referring to the Non-R GT350 Base. Put on your thinking caps folks.

Tech packs will have the tasteful lip spoiler on the trunk with nice modern car amenities inside, like nice seats that are heated/ventilated and a built in center console screen.

Track pack cars have the larger spoiler with Recaro seats and the 90s looking calculator pad center consol. They will also have the transmission cooler on the left side of the front bumper intake.

Not quite sure on the base cars... I'll say my guess will be that the base cars look like the track pack cars on the exterior but won't have the transmission cooler on the front passenger side intake AND the owner will claim they have a very rare car because they didn't spend any money on options while most people didn't want a base car. LOL

Answers:

1) The 2016 base has the same small lip spoiler as the Tech Pack, but has no antenna, like the Track Pack. That's how tell from the exterior.

2) The 2016 base is identical to the Track Pack from the inside, except, because it does not have Magneride, the shock adjustment button on the steering wheel is replaced with a mute button.

3) From under hood, there are no noticeable differences.

OK... I have the heated/cooled seats, XM antenna & sys, and the LED screen Synch system = Tech pack

But I also DO have magnaride, & I have a different rear spoiler, I cannot determine the trans cooler... So??

^ If yours is a '16 Tech, which I assume it is based on G2706 (and 2016 GT500 Shelby, which should probably say GT350), someone changed the spoiler. Yours will not have the trans or diff coolers, and would have a steel (not aluminum) strut brace. Also, all GT350s (except the 177 '16 Base models) have Magneride.

For another things you don't need to know category, What was the name that was attached to the Tech Pack spoiler?

Hardcover dealer spif book called it a "subtle lip spoiler across the trailing edge of the decklid."

Thank You!!! That all makes sense.

I took a pic of my spoiler, just because...

I assume I can get the trans and diff coolers and add them?

Thanks,
David

If you haven't hit limp mode and aren't going to track it, don't bother with the coolers. If you are going to track it there are several ways to add coolers. The trans is most important. It overheats and triggers limp mode. There are no temp sensors on the diff, so change the fluid often and you're good to go. Your rear spoiler is an aftermarket R Model copy.
